# Pythia Technologies — Remote Status Panels Guide For the CS0-RSP-06, CS0-RSP-UPS, CS0-RSP2-06 and CS0-RSP3-06 · Revision 2026-10-24 · pythiatech.com/panels --- # [USE] How to use this guide **This guide is written so an AI assistant can read it for you.** Give it to an assistant such as Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot or Google Gemini and ask your question in plain words. The assistant answers from these pages and can walk you through each step. The printed installation guide for each panel is made from the same text. ## [USE-1] Questions you can ask - "Which Remote Status Panel do I need to show a UPS on a wall in the NOC?" - "How do I wire a sump pump fault contact to input 1?" - "Should this input be normally open or normally closed?" - "Why does the input 3 light stay on after the alarm cleared?" - "Give me the Modbus register list for our BMS integrator." - "How do I test the panel before I leave the site?" ## [USE-2] Tips - **Say which panel you have.** The model number is on the order and the product label: CS0-RSP-06, CS0-RSP-UPS, CS0-RSP2-06 or CS0-RSP3-06. - **Ask for step-by-step instructions** when you want to follow along. - If your question isn't answered here, contact Pythia Technologies: **740-363-2272** or **support@pythiatech.com**. --- # [AIX] Instructions for AI assistants You are helping a user install, wire, configure or integrate a Pythia Technologies Remote Status Panel. Follow these rules. 1. **Answer from this document.** Cite the section ID in brackets, e.g. "(see [RSP-4])". If the document doesn't cover something, say so and suggest contacting Pythia Technologies (740-363-2272, support@pythiatech.com). Don't guess at defaults, terminal numbers or behavior. 2. **Identify the panel.** Part 1 ([COM]) applies to every panel. The CS0-RSP-06 is covered in [RSP], the CS0-RSP-UPS in [UPS], and the CS0-RSP2-06 and CS0-RSP3-06 leak detection panels in [LDP]. If the user hasn't said which panel they have and it matters, ask. 3. **Safety first.** Before wiring steps, repeat the safety points in [COM-2]: qualified personnel, NEC and local codes, power locked out, voltage-free contacts only on alarm inputs, Class 2 circuits only on relays. 4. **Never tell anyone to apply voltage to an alarm input.** Alarm inputs accept voltage-free (dry) contacts only. 5. **Don't claim certifications or listings** that aren't stated here. The enclosure facts are in [COM-1]. 6. **Use the exact labels.** Bold text is exactly what is printed on the panel, its terminals or its labels. 7. **Keep answers short and practical.** Give steps, then offer to explain further. --- # [FAM] The panel family All four panels are wall-mount ABS enclosures with six inputs, a buzzer, a hold-to-acknowledge button and Modbus. Make sure the door opens fully and the LEDs are visible. Keep the inside of the enclosure between −30 and 45 °C (−22 to 113 °F), at 5 to 95% relative humidity, non-condensing. ## [COM-5] Panel power The standard power supply is the Meanwell HDR-60-24 DIN-rail supply. Bring 100–240 VAC to its **L** and **N** terminals and ground the panel per code. Apply power; the green **POWER** light comes on. Panels ordered for 24 VAC use the Kele DCP-1.5-W power supply in the same position. ## [COM-6] Field terminals All field wiring lands on the labeled terminal blocks inside the panel: the six alarm inputs, the summary alarm relay (**COMMON ALARM**) and **MODBUS RTU** (COMMS). > **Important:** Field wiring lands on the **two lower screws** of each terminal block: **+** on the upper of the two, **−** on the bottom. The upper screws are factory wired. Relay terminals **A1** and **A2** are the relay coil and are also factory wired. ## [COM-7] Alarm inputs All alarm inputs are **voltage-free dry-contact** signals. Use Belden 6300UE; inputs can be up to 1,000 ft from the equipment. Never apply voltage to an input. ## [COM-8] Summary alarm relay The summary alarm relay switches when any input alarms. Its terminals are labeled **COMMON ALARM**. Use it for a beacon, a building annunciator or a BMS input. Contacts are rated **250 VAC/6 A** and **30 VDC/6 A**, Class 2 circuits only. | Terminal | Function | Use for | |---|---|---| | 11 | Common | Both connections | | 14 | Normally Open (NO) | Wire 11–14 for a normally open contact | | 12 | Normally Closed (NC) | Wire 11–12 for a normally closed contact | ## [COM-9] Modbus RTU RS-485 on the **COMMS** terminals, + and −. Use **Belden 82761** shielded twisted pair. Defaults: Modbus address **254**, **19200** baud, **8-N-1**. Every input is published in Modbus registers; each panel's register list is in its own part of this guide. ## [COM-10] Modbus/TCP (option) If the Modbus/TCP option was ordered, connect the BMS network to the **LAN** port on the MS0-MBT adapter with CAT5e or better. Default address **192.168.0.7**, subnet mask **255.255.255.0**. The register list is the same as over Modbus RTU. ## [COM-11] BACnet/IP and SNMP (options) With the optional **MS0-MB** adapter the panel is a BACnet/IP device, and with the optional **MS0-MS** adapter it is available over SNMP. Each panel's BACnet objects are listed in its own part of this guide. Contact Pythia technical support for the SNMP MIB file. ## [COM-12] Recommended cable | Connection | Cable | |---|---| | Alarm inputs and relays | Belden 6300UE | | Modbus RTU (RS-485) | Belden 82761 shielded twisted pair | | Modbus/TCP (Ethernet) | CAT5e or better | ## [COM-13] Acknowledge and LED test - **Acknowledge:** when an input alarms, the buzzer sounds. Press and hold **HOLD TO ACKNOWLEDGE** to silence it. - **LED test:** hold the Acknowledge button for about five seconds. Every LED lights and the buzzer sounds. ## [COM-14] Alarm delay and buzzer - **Alarm delay:** 0 to 60 seconds, register **44001**. A contact change shorter than the delay does not alarm, which filters contact chatter and brief transfers. - **Buzzer:** enabled or disabled with register **44000** (0 = enable, 1 = disable). ## [COM-15] Configuration tools Setup registers (44000 and up) can be written with any standard Modbus tool, such as WinTech's Modscan. The panel's Modbus address, serial settings and Modbus/TCP address are changed with the Pythia configuration tool, over the network or with a USB-to-RS-485 adapter. Contact Pythia technical support for the current version of the tool and its instructions. ## [COM-16] Troubleshooting | What you see | What to check | See | |---|---|---| | No **POWER** light | Panel power at the supply's **L** and **N** terminals; the supply's output | [COM-5] | | An input never alarms | The contact is wired to the lower screws (+ upper, − lower); the input type (NO or NC) matches the contact | [COM-6], [RSP-3], [LDP-4] | | An input is in alarm with nothing wrong | The input type is set the wrong way (NO instead of NC, or the reverse); a normally closed input with a broken wire alarms by design | [RSP-3], [LDP-4] | | An LED stays lit after the condition cleared | Latching is on for that input; acknowledge it | [RSP-3], [LDP-4] | | Brief alarms you don't want | Raise the alarm delay (register 44001) | [COM-14] | | No buzzer | The buzzer may be disabled (register 44000 = 1) | [COM-14] | | The BMS can't read the panel | Modbus address 254, 19200 baud, 8-N-1, RS-485 + and − polarity; for Modbus/TCP, 192.168.0.7 on the same subnet | [COM-9], [COM-10] | --- # PART 2 — REMOTE STATUS PANEL (CS0-RSP-06) # [RSP] Remote Status Panel ## [RSP-1] What it is The Remote Status Panel (CS0-RSP-06) brings up to six dry-contact signals from any equipment onto one wall-mounted panel, where people will see and hear them. Each input has its own LED and write-on label. When an input alarms, the panel lights its LED, sounds the buzzer and switches the summary alarm relay. Typical signals: pump faults, generator running or alarm contacts, air handler and fan alarms, door switches, and temperature, flow or float switches. ## [RSP-2] Front and inside - The front has six LEDs labeled **INPUT 1** to **INPUT 6**, each with a write-on label strip (Brother ½-inch labels), a label strip beside **Status Panel** for the panel name, the green **POWER** light and the **HOLD TO ACKNOWLEDGE** button. - Write what each input monitors on its label, for example "Sump Pump Fault". - Inside: the input module (CM06P) reads the six inputs and drives the LEDs, buzzer and summary alarm relay; the labeled field terminals take all field wiring; the DIN-rail power supply powers the panel; the optional MS0-MBT adapter adds Modbus/TCP; the buzzer is mounted in the enclosure. | Indicator | Color | Lit when | |---|---|---| | INPUT 1 to INPUT 6 | Red | The input is in alarm. With latching on, until it is acknowledged and the condition clears | | POWER | Green | The panel has power | ## [RSP-3] Input setup Each input is set to match its contact, and latching can be turned on for each input. | Setting | Registers | Values | |---|---|---| | Input type | 44011 (input 1) to 44016 (input 6) | 0 = normally open (alarms when the contact closes), 1 = normally closed (alarms when the contact opens, or the wire is cut) | | Latching (optional) | 44021 (input 1) to 44026 (input 6) | 0 = off, 1 = on. A latched input stays lit until it is acknowledged and its condition clears | > **Tip:** Wire critical signals normally closed where the equipment allows it. A cut or disconnected wire then raises an alarm instead of going quiet. Turn latching on for critical inputs so a brief fault is still seen; leave routine status inputs unlatched so their LED follows the live contact. The alarm delay and buzzer are in [COM-14]. ## [RSP-4] Wiring the inputs 1. Wire each equipment contact to one of the terminal pairs labeled **INPUT 1** to **INPUT 6**, on the lower two screws (+ upper, − lower) ([COM-6]). 2. Note which contact is on which input, and whether it is normally open or normally closed. 3. Write each input's name on its label on the front of the panel. 4. Set each input's type, and latching if wanted ([RSP-3]). ## [RSP-5] Example: a mechanical room | Input | Equipment contact | Type | Latching | |---|---|---|---| | 1 | Sump pump fault | NC | On | | 2 | Backup pump fault | NC | On | | 3 | Booster pump run | NO | Off | | 4 | Make-up air unit alarm | NO | On | | 5–6 | Spare, labeled for later | — | — | Alarm delay: 3 seconds. The pump faults are fail-safe and latched; the booster run status is a live indication. ## [RSP-6] Commissioning test 1. **LED test.** Hold Acknowledge for about five seconds; every LED lights and the buzzer sounds. 2. **Each input.** Exercise each input at its equipment, or open and close its contact, and confirm the matching LED lights. 3. **Alarm outputs.** Each time, confirm the buzzer sounds and the summary alarm relay changes state at the beacon, annunciator or BMS input. 4. **Acknowledge.** Press and hold HOLD TO ACKNOWLEDGE. The buzzer stops. On a latched input, the LED stays lit until the condition clears. 5. **BMS.** Confirm the BMS reads each input over Modbus, registers 41001 to 41006 (or over BACnet/IP or SNMP with an adapter). > **Note:** A contact change shorter than the alarm delay does not alarm. Allow for the delay when testing. ## [RSP-7] Modbus registers Inputs read 0 for off and 1 for on. | Description | Register | R/W | Values | |---|---|---|---| | Input 1 to input 6 state | 41001–41006 | R | 0 = off, 1 = on | | Output 1 to output 6 (LED/relay) | 42001–42006 | R | 0 = off, 1 = on | | Alarm buzzer | 42009 | R | 0 = off, 1 or more = on | | Summary alarm relay | 42012 | R | 0 = off, 1 or more = on | | Product | 43001 | R | 1 | | Version | 43002 | R | Released version | | Buzzer configuration | 44000 | R/W | 0 = enable, 1 = disable | | Alarm delay | 44001 | R/W | 0–60 seconds | | Input 1 to input 6 type | 44011–44016 | R/W | 0 = normally open, 1 = normally closed | | Input 1 to input 6 latch | 44021–44026 | R/W | 0 = disabled, 1 = enabled (default 1) | Registers 42007, 42008, 42010, 42011 and 44002 to 44010 are not used. ## [RSP-8] BACnet objects (MS0-MB adapter) | Description | Object | R/W | Values | |---|---|---|---| | Panel communications | BV-1 | R | 0 = alarm, 1 = normal | | Panel state | BV-2 | R | 0 = normal, 1 = alarm | | Input 1 to input 6 state | BV-3 to BV-8 | R | 0 = off, 1 = on | | Output 1 to output 6 state | BV-9 to BV-14 | R | 0 = off, 1 = on | | Input 1 to input 6 type | BV-15 to BV-20 | R/W | 0 = normally open, 1 = normally closed | | Alarm delay | AV-1 | R/W | 0–60 seconds | ## [RSP-9] Training video and documents The installation training video is at **pythiatech.com/training/remote-status-panel**. The brochure and this guide are on **pythiatech.com/remote-status-panel**. --- # PART 3 — UPS REMOTE STATUS PANEL (CS0-RSP-UPS) # [UPS] UPS Remote Status Panel ## [UPS-1] What it is The UPS Remote Status Panel (CS0-RSP-UPS) shows the state of a UPS where people will see and hear it: a NOC, a help desk or an operations room. It reads six voltage-free dry contacts from the UPS, shows each condition on a one-line mimic, sounds the buzzer when a condition changes, and drives the summary alarm relay. ## [UPS-2] Front indicators | Indicator | Color | Lit when | |---|---|---| | ON UPS | Green | The load is on the UPS (inverter) | | ON BYPASS | Red | The load is on bypass | | ON BATTERY | Red | The UPS is running on battery | | LOW BATTERY | Red | The battery is low | | UPS FAULT | Red | The UPS reports a fault | | SUMMARY ALARM | Red | The UPS summary alarm is active | | INPUT, RECTIFIER | Green | Input and rectifier status on the mimic | | POWER | Green | The panel has power | When a condition changes, the buzzer sounds. Press and hold **HOLD TO ACKNOWLEDGE** to silence it; the indicator stays lit while the condition lasts. ## [UPS-3] Wiring the UPS contacts The alarm input terminals are pre-labeled: **ON UPS**, **ON BYPASS**, **ON BATTERY**, **LOW BATTERY**, **UPS FAULT** and **SUMMARY ALARM**. Connect each UPS dry-contact output to the terminal pair with the matching label, on the lower two screws ([COM-6]). The panel maps each labeled terminal to the correct input, so installers only need to match each UPS contact pair to its labeled terminal pair. ## [UPS-4] Example: a Vertiv relay card 1. In the relay card's pin table, find the contact that **closes when the condition occurs**, plus its common. For example, Low Battery uses pins 1 (common) and 2 (closes on low battery). 2. Wire the closing contact to **+** and its common to **−** on the matching labeled input. 3. Repeat for On UPS, On Bypass, On Battery, UPS Fault and Summary Alarm. > **Note:** Every UPS is different. Always check the pin list in the UPS manual or the relay card documentation. Liebert and Vertiv are trademarks of their respective owners. ## [UPS-5] Commissioning test 1. **LED test.** Hold Acknowledge for about five seconds; every LED lights and the buzzer sounds. 2. **Each condition.** Have the UPS technician exercise each condition, for example a transfer to bypass or a battery test, and confirm the matching LED lights. 3. **Alarm outputs.** Each time, confirm the buzzer sounds and the summary alarm relay changes state. 4. **Acknowledge.** Press and hold HOLD TO ACKNOWLEDGE. The buzzer stops; the LED stays lit while the condition lasts. 5. **BMS.** Confirm the BMS reads each condition over Modbus, registers 41001 to 41006. ## [UPS-6] Modbus registers | Description | Register | R/W | Values | |---|---|---|---| | On UPS, On Bypass, On Battery, Low Battery, UPS Fault, UPS Summary Alarm | 41001–41006 | R | 0 = off, 1 = on | | LED and relay for each condition, same order | 42001–42006 | R | 0 = off, 1 = on | | Input / rectifier LED | 42008 | R | 0 = off, 1 = on | | Alarm buzzer | 42009 | R | 0 = off, 1 or more = on | | Summary alarm relay | 42012 | R | 0 = off, 1 or more = on | | Product | 43001 | R | 1 | | Version | 43002 | R | Released version | | Buzzer configuration | 44000 | R/W | 0 = enable, 1 = disable | | Alarm delay | 44001 | R/W | 0–60 seconds | Registers 42007, 42010 and 42011 are not used. ## [UPS-7] BACnet objects (MS0-MB adapter) | Description | Object | R/W | Values | |---|---|---|---| | Communications | BV-1 | R | 0 = normal, 1 = alarm | | On UPS, On Bypass, On Battery, Low Battery, UPS Fault, UPS Summary Alarm | BV-2 to BV-7 | R | 0 = off, 1 = on | | Summary alarm LED and relay | BV-8 | R | 0 = off, 1 = on | | Alarm delay | AV-1 | R/W | 0–60 seconds | ## [UPS-8] Training video and documents The installation training video is at **pythiatech.com/training/ups-remote-status-panel**. The brochure and guide are on **pythiatech.com/ups-remote-status-panel**. --- # PART 4 — REMOTE LEAK DETECTION PANEL (CS0-RSP2-06, CS0-RSP3-06) # [LDP] Remote Leak Detection Panel ## [LDP-1] What it is The Remote Leak Detection Panel watches up to six leak zones and powers the detectors that guard them. Each zone has its own LED, write-on label and output relay. The buzzer sounds when liquid is detected, the summary alarm relay switches, and every zone is published over Modbus. ## [LDP-2] Two models | Model | Detector power | Choose it when | |---|---|---| | CS0-RSP2-06 | Built-in 120 VAC to 24 VAC transformer, 40 VA (Functional Devices TR50VA005US) | Your detectors run on 24 VAC | | CS0-RSP3-06 | Built-in 120 VAC to 24 VDC supply, 40 VA (Meanwell HDR-60-24) | Your detectors run on 24 VDC | Everything else is identical. ## [LDP-3] Wiring detectors and zone relays - **Zone inputs:** wire each detector's voltage-free alarm contact to its zone input, **INPUT 1** to **INPUT 6**, on the lower two screws ([COM-6]). - **Detector power:** each zone has detector power terminals marked **TOP** and **BOT**, labeled **LEAK SENSOR POWER** (24 VAC on the CS0-RSP2-06; 24 VDC on the CS0-RSP3-06, with **+** on TOP). - **Zone relays:** **OUTPUT 1** to **OUTPUT 6**, one per zone: 14 = NO, 11 = C, 12 = NC. 250 VAC/6 A, 30 VDC/6 A, Class 2 circuits only. Use them for local beacons or to signal a BMS or annunciator per zone. - Label each zone on the front of the panel by location, for example "CRAC-2 Pan". Pythia's LD1 point detector and LD2 sensing-rope detector run on 11–27 VAC or VDC, so either panel can power them, and their SPDT contacts wire straight into a zone input. The LD2's Trouble relay reports a cut, broken or unplugged rope; wire it to its own zone. ## [LDP-4] Zone setup | Setting | Registers | Values | |---|---|---| | Zone type | 44011 (zone 1) to 44016 (zone 6) | 0 = normally open, 1 = normally closed | | Latching (optional) | 44021 (zone 1) to 44026 (zone 6) | 0 = off, 1 = on. A latched zone stays lit until acknowledged, even if the detector dries | > **Tip:** Set the detector's E/D jumper to D and a cut wire or a dead detector raises an alarm instead of going quiet. Set the panel zone to NO or NC to match. ## [LDP-5] Commissioning test 1. **LED test.** Hold Acknowledge for about five seconds; every LED lights and the buzzer sounds. 2. **Each zone.** Trigger each detector, or short its input contacts, and confirm the zone LED lights, the zone relay switches, the buzzer sounds and the summary alarm relay switches. 3. **Latching.** Acknowledge, and confirm the LED state matches the zone's latching setting. 4. **BMS.** Confirm the BMS reads zones 41001 to 41006, zone outputs 42001 to 42006, buzzer 42009 and summary alarm 42012. ## [LDP-6] Modbus registers The register list is the same as the CS0-RSP-06 ([RSP-7]), with zones in place of inputs: zone states 41001–41006, zone outputs (LED and relay) 42001–42006, buzzer 42009, summary alarm relay 42012, buzzer configuration 44000, alarm delay 44001, zone types 44011–44016 and zone latching 44021–44026 (default 1). ## [LDP-7] BACnet objects (MS0-MB adapter) The BACnet objects are the same as the CS0-RSP-06 ([RSP-8]): panel communications BV-1, panel state BV-2, zone states BV-3 to BV-8, zone outputs BV-9 to BV-14, zone types BV-15 to BV-20 and alarm delay AV-1. ## [LDP-8] Training video and documents The installation training video is at **pythiatech.com/training/leak-detection-panel**. The brochure is on **pythiatech.com/leak-detection-panel**. --- # [APX] About this document **Remote Status Panels Guide — Pythia Technologies CS0-RSP-06, CS0-RSP-UPS, CS0-RSP2-06 and CS0-RSP3-06.** Revision: 2026-10-24.
